These elegant filigree Art Nouveau cuff links are likely from the early l920s before the Art Nouveau style of jewelry gave way to the Art Deco style. During that period there was “The White Period” of jewelry making, when most jewelry was set in a white metal. The old fashioned foot and foldable linkage apparatus also helps to date them..
These filigree dome cufflinks are made from a delicate-looking silver-white metal which applies an open weave pattern and intricate design all with metal work. I spied them in a large antique mall on the outskirts of Denver. They are unique in style and exceptional in their distinctive presence.
The cufflinks are as appropriate for a wedding as a night out in jeans, offering distinction with era gone by simple elegance. They are in very good vintage condition for their 90+ years. The head is a circle with a 3/8” diameter and a .25” depth.
On both shanks is the “825” designation in a small design that designates the silver purity, and a maker’s mark that is hard to read, possibly, “GHS”. The pictures offer greater perspective on the craftsmanship, styling and condition of these vintage Art Nouveau unique cuff links.
